I'm sure I've done something like this in the past, but here it goes.
(I was tagged by random001)

1. I'm obsessed with achieving perfect hair. It's silly, really, 'cause that's pretty much impossible.

Hayley has great hair...

2. I love painting my nails. I can get pretty creative. I've done stripes, diamonds, and plenty of other cool designs.

3. I have a not-so-guilty pleasure of taking pictures on photobooth with Jetta.

4. I love cowboys, so I'm a big fan of John Wayne movies.

5. I go through weird phases where all I want is one food or drink. A while ago it was yogurt. Then string cheese. Then apple sauce. Then cranberry juice.
Now it's either almonds or bananas.

6. I also go through weird phases where I can only listen to a certain song over and over. Most recently it was "Miss California" by Jack's Mannequin.

7. I keep a journal. Sure do. I'm pretty diligent about it, too. I write in it every night. I can get pretty nostalgic, so it's fun to look back on previous journals and see how different I am.

8. I love stupid jokes about math and science. Or any other you-have-to-be-intelligent-to-get-it kind of jokes.

9. My favorite TV show is Drake & Josh.

10. I can count to nineteen in German. =D

You heard right! I went to their short performance in Hollywood and afterwards got the chance to meet them! They were super nice, and I showed Hayley the shirt that took me an hour to make. She smiled and thought it was cool. The whole thing went by really fast.

Paramore only played four songs ("That's What You Get", "Pressure", "Misery Business", and "Decode"). And apparently there was some Twilight thing afterwards, so there were a bunch of inexperienced show-goers in the crowd. It was kind of funny. Not gonna lie.

Sorry I don't have pictures with Paramore. It wasn't allowed. but I do have pictures of the performance and other things.

My Not So Bogus Journey

So I, like many others here on Buzznet, attended Bill and Trav's Bogus Journey on October 18. It was incredible. I don't think I could pick my favorite concert out of all of the ones I've been to, but this one is high up there. I didn't bring my camera, though, because I thought they would confiscate it. You'll just have to deal with no pictures.

Jetta and I arrived at the venue with a plan. We ate lunch at the House of Blues, so we got to wait in a shorter line for entry. While we were waiting by a fountain, one of the performers that are frequently found in Downtown Disney played this complex looking drum set. His job, it seemed, was to "give these emo kids some culture" as Jetta and I put it.

There was a meet and greet on the balcony, and Sisky, the Butcher, William, and even Pete Wents came out and waved to the crowd. Their acknowledgement wasn't very well-received. The crowd seemed apathetic. But Jetta and I cheered.

Finally the line moved up and we realized we could, after all, bring cameras inside for some bizarre reason. But thankfully my phone takes decent picture/video.

Jetta and I squeezed into the pit and waited for a while until Hey Monday came on. Once the crowd caught a glimpse of them, they all pushed up. Jetta and I were squished in between some others and were almost seperated. The crowd was mainly composed of Mrs. Travis Clark wannabes who only knew one of We the Kings's songs but decided to come anyway. This means they didn't really jump at all, nor did they wave their cell phones during a slow song.

Anyways, Hey Monday was excellent. We became fans. Cassadee (sp?) is a great vocalist, and the other guitarists did a great job.

But the squeezing persisted, so Jetta and I decided to get out before it really got bad once We The Kings got on. I'd rather be able to breathe than touch Travis's hand for one second. And this was a sold-out show I'm talking about.

We went up on the balcony by the door that led backstage. We caught glimpses of Hey Monday and even Travis Clark himself.

Michael Guy Chislett even walked through and he waved when I said hi. It's so weird seeing someone in person that you had always seen on camera. I was stupid and didn't ask for his autograph, though. Yes, I get starstruck. But he's much cuter in person. Just seeing him outside of the stage was pretty cool. I don't need a picture to prove it.

Jack the Camera Guy walked back and forth. I cheered, "Yeah, Jack!" and he put his hands up a little and replied, "yeah!" It was pretty funny. I think I was the only one on the balcony who even knew who he was.

I'm such a dork.

Finally Jetta and I head over to the merch table, and I bought a Hey Monday bracelet and the tour t-shirt. I got the bracelet signed by Jersey, the bassist. He was a nice guy. He said, "You two look familiar," and we reminded him that we were sitting by the back door that he kept coming out of.

We the Kings got on, and we had a fun time dancing and singing to them.

The Academy Is finally arrived, and they were incredible. I don't know about Jetta, but I had an excellent time. I got some pretty good pictures and videos of them. William played "Automatic Eyes", one of my favorites, accoustically. I was pleased. Cassadee came out and did harmony on "The Test". Travis did the last chorus of "About a Girl". That was enjoyable.

When it ended, we got to meet Cassadee because of our good seats next to the back door. She signed Jetta's new Hey Monday shirt and my bracelet. She was super nice. She thanked us for supporting them.

Jetta got a few other Hey Monday signatures, and then we left for some ice cream since We The Kings and The Academy Is didn't, after all, come out to greet us. They were meeting with friends and family that night, apparently. I see why they would pick this tour date, though. The venue is right by Disneyland. I wonder if the bands went there afterwards...

I didn't mind not meeting them, though, becase I already sort of met Chislett.

All in all, one of my favorite concerts!

The Last Riot!

So yesterday I went to The Last Riot tour with Paramore headlining and Paper Route and Jack's Mannequin opened. It was incredible. We were about six rows back. It was all seated, but we ended up standing up anyways. I went with Jetta, by the way.

So here's Paper Route:

They were pretty good. They had a lot of cool instruments aside from the usual guitars like the tamborine, xylophone, and accordian. You should check them out. I don't really know who to compare them to. =P

Up next is Jack's Mannequin:

First off let me say that I had heard of Jack's Mannequin, but I didn't really know whether they were going to be good or not. I thought they might use a lot of profanity and just be unpleasant, but they were the complete opposite! I loved them! I really liked some of the songs: "La La Lie", "Dark Blue", and "Made for Each Other".

It was also cool that the lead singer grew up in Dana Point, which is really close to where I'm at. I love OC bands! Haha

They were really amazing performers. The lead singer went crazy with the piano and even jumped on top of it a few times. I'm definately getting their stuff.

And finally... PARAMORE!!!

They played so magnificently. Hayley is sooo amazing live. Her voice is incredible. Jeremy rocked out and even flipped once. Josh was all cool and reserved, but was still amazing. Their stand in guitarist was really good, and Zac played the drums like no other.

I'd rate them second in my list of favorite concerts. That's tied with Panic at the Disco at the Honda Civic Tour and one behind Fall Out Boy at the Honda Civic Tour.

I liked their lineup. I think they played all of my favorite songs, so that was great. And the setup was awesome. They had "Riot" in lights above the stage that changed colors according to the mood of the song.

All in all an excellent performance! =D

Chapter 19: An Adventure

"So what do we do now?" Travis asked.

We were sitting under a tree in a park by our houses.

"I don't know," I admitted. "I've never actually been in a relationship before."

"Seriously?"

"Well we can't all have charmingly British personalities."

"Not even true," he chuckled. "I'm not considered very charming back home. Of course back home I didn't have 'an accent'."

I laughed. "But no one likes American 'accents', so I'm doomed either way."

"I don't know... I like how you talk."

I looked at him in a are-you-serious way, but my smile gave away my pleasure.

"But honestly, what do you want to do?" he persisted.

"Honestly?" I inquired.

He nodded.

"I want to go on an adventure."

"Hmmm," he stroked his chin as he considered this. "Follow me."

We got up and he grabbed my hand. My whole arm started tingling and soon the rest of me was buzzing.

Travis started running and I followed him straight back to his house. This didn't strike me as very adventurous until he came out of his backyard with his guitar in hand.

"Where are you going with this?" I asked.

He only smiled and grabbed my hand again. We raced through the streets and found ourselves at the beginning of a trail.

Even though I had no idea where it led to, I let Travis pull me through the many twists and turns. I heard seagulls after twenty minutes of walking and ten minutes later I was stepping into the warm sand that surrounded a small bay I had no idea exsisted.

"Where are we?" I questioned. "And don't say 'the beach', 'cause I won't take that as an answer."

"Well I was walking around one day when I found that trail head. I decided to follow it and I ended up here. So I don't really know the name of it, but I think it's pretty."

"Yeah," I agreed.

He sat down by a rock and patted the sand next to him. I obeyed and joined him. Then Travis started strumming.

"To be honest I have no idea how to play the guitar, but I figured you'd like me more if I was musical."

I laughed. "That's okay. It was getting a little cheesy, anyways."

"I'll take lessons someday."

"Okay." I took the guitar from him and started playing "Fokin' Around" by Panic at the Disco.

"Allow me to exaggerate on a memory or two," I sang. "Where summer's lasted longer, longer than we do. And nothing really mattered except for me to be with you. But in time we all forgot and we all grew."

Travis sand in the same tune. "I haven't got a clue what this song is. So I'll just sing to you if it's what'll make you smile. And I'm sorry I'm not as good with words as your favorite band, but I really really hope you understand."

I cracked up. "I forgot you didn't listen to Panic at the Disco."

"Oh, so that's who it is. Yes, could you play something else?"

"I can play 'Wine Red'," I offered.

"I'm not sure that'd fit the mood.

"Right."

We continued to make up lyrics to songs we knew, each line getting wittier than the one before.

"You know," Travis said after at least an hour. "We could definately be our own band someday."

I grinned. "Sweet."

He nodded and grabbed my hand. "We better get going. I have some homework to finish."

"Me, too." I agreed reluctantly and followed him back onto the trail.

Chapter 18: The Plan

Sorry I haven't written in almost a month. Summer has definately kept me busy. I will also admit to not being too keen on writing. But last night I couldn't sleep and I figured out how I want it to end, so I wrote the next chapter. Enjoy!

It took me a while before I could actually convince myself to do it. I didn't want to be generic and call Travis and say, "Although it may not seem like it, I love you, too." No, I wanted it to be special.

Curse me and my thoughtfulness.

I didn't put my plan into action until much later. So it was pretty awkward between me and Travis at school. I would just be friendly and he wouldn't say much back. Just like old times.

It didn't help that Zoey kept pressuring me to tell him.

"Come on, go for it!" she'd whisper everytime he walked by alone. Which was quite often, might I add.

I'd shrug her off and mumble some excuse. She never bought it, but let it go for the time being.

Reese and Jeremy sensed something was up after the third day of it all.

"Zoey, what are you doing?" Reese asked, referring to her nudges she'd give me when Travis walked by.

"Zoey's trying to get Jenna to straighten things out between her and Travis," Monica informed.

"Thanks," I said sarcastically. "How'd you know anyways?"

"Isn't it obvious?" she wondered aloud.

"Um... no?!" Jeremy exclaimed.

"Whatever," Zoey dismissed and nibbled her pizza.

I casually brought up our wacky science teacher, knowing that they would swap stories and that would change the subject for the time being. It worked up until Travis wallked over and tapped me on the shoulder.

I turned around and smiled. "What's up?"

He responded, "The project's due Friday. You want me to finish it? I think your part's done."

"Really? You sure?"

"Yeah."

"Then thanks!" I smiled again and he walked away.

Jeremy and Zoey exchanged glances and went back to their conversation.

I finally decided to end the confusion Friday after school. I was done procrastinating. It's now or never. And there really was no reason for me to be scared. It's not like he would reject me or anything, right? Then why is my stomach in knots?

After everything was done I called Travis.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's Jenna."

"Hi. Is this about the project? 'Cause I'm pretty sure we aced it. I asked-"

"Whoa, I just saw the coolest thing out the window."

"What?"

"Go look." It sounded stupider than I intended it to be, but I didn't another way to get him to see it.

He appeared in his bedroom and peered outside.

"I don't see any..." Travis stopped short. His eyes rested on mine and then my window and then my eyes again. He flipped his phone shurt and I did, too. He looked over his shoulder as if searching for another person this could be intended for. Then Travis pointed a finger to his chest and mouthed, "Me?"

I nodded, having a sudden flashback of Sixteen Candles and that scene near the end.

He opened his window and I did the same.

"Seriously?" he yelled. "I thought you were above that since you didn't say anything about it for a week."

"No, I'm serious."

"Then why didn't you say anything before?"

"I'm saying it now, aren't I?"

He shook his head in a just-answer-the-question way.

"I was scared," I blurted.

"Of what?"

"I don't know," I admitted.

And then he grinned a grin I'll never forget, even though his memory's fading now.

Oh, yeah, I guess you want to know what was written on the window. Well, after much thougt about which band we both love, I decided This Providence was the most fitting. So I wrote, "I'm falling more in love with every single word I withold and I'm falling more in love with every single word you say. I'm falling head over heels for you."

I didn't see much of Travis the rest of the week. Not once did he live up to his promise of telling me what was up. But, then again, it wasn't really a promise.

So I continued my days as normal. Reese and Jeremy didn't bring up Travis as much as they used to, and for that I was grateful. They must have sensed something was up since he didn't look over at our table as much as usual.

It almost seemed like the whole thing never happened until Friday afternoon.

Jeremy was just getting off the bus when it started: the continuing peers from Travis.

Our stop came and he sped off. I followed close behind.

"Travis, you have yet to tell me what's going on," I reminded. "It is later."

He slowly turned around, mid-step. "Oh, right." He waited for me to catch up. I joined him by his side. "So," I prompted.

"Will you promise not to laugh, sneer, tease, or tell anyone about this?"

"Sure," I agreed.

And then he told me everything.

I got home and immediately called Zoey. Yes, I was breaking the rules, but this was too much too keep to myself.

"Hey," she greeted.

"Travis just told me everything," I blurted.

"Whoa, what? Spill."

"So his dad had a job oppurtunity here in California. At first he was reluctant to go, but then something happened. Sarah moved to Germany to go to this boarding school. Travis was miserable without her, even though in my opinion she was a jerk. So Travis agreed to go to California while his sister stayed at a boarding school in England. But he vowed to not fall in love too quickly because he didn't want more heartbreak."

"Ooh, this is getting good," Zoey said excitedly.

"He came to California and moved into my old friend, Selena's, house. Selena's sister knew him because she was a foreign exchange student in London. That's why they chose that house."

"It's weird how that works out," she mused. "Go on."

"Then my mom and I came and he..."

"What?"

"He, and this is a direct quote, 'thought I was stunning'."

"Awwww," she cooed.

I laughed and continued, "He didn't want to break his promise to himself, so he thought he could just ignore me and maybe I'd go away."

She snorted.

"Childish, I know, but then we got paired up in class and he couldn't ignore me without coming off as a moron."

"He did anyways," she interrupted.

"Will you let me finish?"

"Sorry, continue."

"He also couldn't stop staring at me, as you guys noticed."

"Wait, so what was with the Hannah Montana shirt?"

"It was his sister's. And, yes, he did wear it as a dare for not asking me out."

"Whoa, this is just all so surreal."

That seemed to sum it all up.

"So are you guys a couple now?"

"Well... no."

"No?"

"He sort of left after finishing his story. He was super embarassed."

"Awwww," she cooed again.

"Yeah, but I have to find someway to make him know I feel the same way."

"You didn't tell him?"

"No," I admitted. "I didn't want to interrupt."

"Well don't do anything cheesy."

"Yeah."

"Good luck."

"What, you're just going to leave me hanging?"

"I'm not going to tell you what to do. This is just one more thing you have to do yourself. And, besides, it would be a lot less romantic if he asked how you came up with it and you told him it was my idea. Call me and tell me how it goes. Bye!"

I flipped my phone shut, completely dumbfounded. Then I had an idea.

So I'm leaving for camp tomorrow, Two weeks. I'll miss you all, but I'll get back to you on July 7th when I come back. Leave me lots of messages and I'll wrap up the story then. Bye!

This is a note to "him" which I'm reffering to as Reese. I just wanted to get all of my feeilngs out in one long letter. I'm not expecting anyone to read it, it's mainly for my benefit. But I'm not sending this. I'm not that meamn. =P

Dear Reese,

How's life? I hope you're blissfully happy. After all, why shouldn't you be? All the girls want you, you have tons of friends at home, and you get to go the beach every day. So enjoy it while it lasts. 'Cause all good things must end. (If you actually listened to that mix CD I gave you, you'd know that I'm reffering to "Down and Out" by The Academy Is...)

And speaking of that mix CD, did you realize that I was trying to tell you a story. It started out with "Thunder", a love song, and went straight into a collection of breakup songs like "The Phrase That Pays" and "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs".

Do you even know how much you affected me? I went into about six months of somewhat-depression, but I like to think of it as the time when I completely lost my mind to love. Too bad I moved on. I might still be your puppet if I didn't.

Now I'd like to bring your attention to March 30th. Yes, the day when you were in California for Spring Break. Contrary to previous meetings, you completely ignored me and were distant. But you know what? I'm glad you did that. I finally realized that I had wasted all this time on you for nothing. So I started over new and embraced being single.

June 15th. Yes, that's the first Sunday of your summer outing here. You walk up to me, tap me on the shoulder, and what did you expect? A hug and a kiss? You just waltz into my life expecting me to welcome you openly? Sorry, it doesn't work that way. I was actually dreading your coming. And you have the nerve to sit next to me and keep scooting closer. STOP MESSING WITH ME! I'm not affected by that anymore. I don't care.

And what was with you bringing up Knott's Berry Farm? I'm not inviting you. You can count on that much. You didn't say "thank you" once. You can kiss that goodbye. Just go with China. She'd love to go out with you. She'd smother you with her love and cuddles and flirtacious antics. Not me. You might as well forget about me like you did when I e-mailed you.

So enjoy your summer without me. I'm sure it's not going to be what you expected. I guess we can still be friends, but I'm not too keen on hanging out with you. You had your chance.

Sincerely,
